Biography

William W. Priest is the Founder, CEO, Co-CIO and Portfolio Manager of Epoch Investment Partners. Before the founding of Epoch Investment Partners in 2004, William W. Priest was a Co-Managing Partner and Portfolio Manager at Steinberg Priest & Sloane Capital Management, LLC for two years. Prior to joining Steinberg Priest, he was a Member of the Global Executive Committee of Credit Suisse Asset Management, Chairman and CEO of Credit Suisse Asset Management Americas and CEO and Portfolio Manager of its predecessor firm BEA Associates, which he co-founded in 1972. During his 30 year tenure at BEA and CSAM, Mr. Priest developed the firm into a well-recognized investment manager with over $100 billion US under management. He is a CFA charterholder, CPA, and a graduate of Duke University and the University of Pennsylvania Wharton Graduate School of Business. He is author of several published articles and papers on investing and finance, including the books, The Financial Reality of Pension Funding Under ERISA and the most recent, Free Cash Flow and Shareholder Yield: New Priorities for the Global Investor, published by John Wiley & Sons. He is a Director of Globe Wireless, InfraRedX and a Member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Eric Sappenfield

Biography

Eric Sappenfield is a Managing Director, Co- Portfolio Manager and Senior Analyst for Epoch Investment Partners. Prior to joining Epoch, Eric was a research analyst at Spear Leads & Kellogg where he was responsible for credit/risk assessment. Previously, he was a senior analyst at Steinberg Priest & Sloane focusing upon high yield bonds and equities of leveraged companies. Additional experience in his 20 year plus career includes senior analytical roles at The Carlyle Group, Travelers, and Jeffries and Co. Eric holds a B.A. degree from Stanford University and an MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Michael A. Welhoelter, CFA

Biography

Michael A. Welhoelter is a Managing Director, Portfolio Manager and Head of Quantitative Research and Risk Management for Epoch Investment Partners. Prior to joining the firm in 2005, Mr. Welhoelter was a director and portfolio manager in the Quantitative Strategies Group at Columbia Management Group, Inc. In this role, he managed over $5 billion in mutual funds and separately managed portfolios. Prior to joining Columbia Management Group, he was at Credit Suisse Asset Management Group, where he was a portfolio manager in the Structured Equity group, overseeing long/short market neutral and large cap core products. Prior to joining Credit Suisse Asset Management he was a portfolio manager and quantitative research analyst at Chancellor/LGT Asset Management. Mr. Welhoelter holds a B.A. degree in Computer and Information Sciences from Colgate University. He is a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts and the Society of Quantitative Analysts and he is a CFA charterholder.

Biography

Harindra ("Harin") de Silva is responsible for the firm's strategic direction and the ongoing development of its investment processes.  As a portfolio manager, Harin focuses on the ongoing research effort for equity and global asset allocation strategies.

Harin has authored several articles and studies on finance-related topics including stock market anomalies, market volatility and asset valuation.  He, along with his colleagues Roger Clarke and Stephen Thorley, was recognized with the prestigious Graham and Dodd Award of Excellence for their research published in the Financial Analysts Journal in 2002 and 2005.  Prior to joining Analytic Investors, Harin was a Principal at Analysis Group, Inc., where he was responsible for providing economic research services to institutional investors including investment managers, large pension funds, and endowments.

Gregory McMurran

Biography

As Chief Investment Officer, Greg McMurran oversees the implementation of the firm's investment strategies.  He is a major contributor to the firm's ongoing research efforts as well as new product development and strategy applications.  As a portfolio manager, Greg focuses on day-to-day portfolio management and research related to derivatives-based investment strategies. 

With 30 years of quantitative research, portfolio management and trading experience, Greg has an extensive background in managing quantitative investment portfolios.  Greg is also recognized as an authority on options valuation and strategies and has authored several articles.

Dennis Bein, CFA

Biography

As Chief Investment Officer, Dennis Bein oversees the implementation of the firm's investment strategies.  He is a major contributor to the firm's ongoing research efforts as well as new product development and strategy applications.  As a portfolio manager, Dennis focuses on day-to-day portfolio management and research related to equity-based investment strategies. 

Prior to joining Analytic Investors, Dennis was a Senior Consultant for Analysis Group, Inc., where he provided investment consulting services for institutional investors and plan sponsors.  He advised pension fund managers on topics such as investment objective definition, asset allocation analysis, manager selection and manager performance evaluation.
